ANDREU VILASÍS
Esmaltes para el siglo XXI

Barcelona. Sala Rovira. Rambla Catalunya, 62
Del 15 de mayo al 16 de junio de 2007

( Look Exhibition )

FOC Gallery in its virtual gallery has the pleasure to present the work and the artist's enameller current exhibition of Rosa Gelpí. Although, as all incipient artist in their artistic beginnings hesitates between several techniques and concepts until finding their own one on the expression way that identifies them, we would say that Rosa Gelpí already from their beginnings in the appearance of the world of the art imposed a creation unit in their work that, after their long artist life she maintains their characteristics that define her. It doesn't mean that Rosa's work has not matured and evolved toward a simplification of lines and expressions that summarize and they express in one alone, a lot more than those that before needed for the same result.
Some maybe will attribute to Rosa's Gelpí work an excessive anecdote content without noticing that this is exactly their inspiration world for their fine poetic sensibility that vibrates and it is nurtured in fact and almost exclusively of the human contour that surrounds she, it moves her, it makes her happy or sad.

As the art critic Josep M. Cadena says in the presentation of the catalog of this exhibition from Rosa to which refer:.. She observes, captures (...), she consents to the different states of spirit of the other ones and she is happy or she saddens... " and that then she translates so much in her paintings or drawings as in enamel with fire on metals.

Rafael Arroyo Villemur: ( Look Exhibition )
Foc Gallery presents in this occasion the work of the enameller Rafael Arroyo. Formed firstly in the workshop of Consol MASCAREÑAS, one of the most active of Barcelona in the years 50 i 60, he specialized in the jeweler's enamelling and worked for the best ones in Barcelona. It enlarged studies in the Llotja School of Barcelona.
It highlights in the cloisonné technique and on plique-a-jour.
Nevertheless he cultivates a personnel line of art works in artistic creation and in mixed techniques that we present now here and that we are sure they will make the delights of all those that visit this virtual exhibition.
A group of imaginative, amusing and impossible characters looks at us from its delicate copper structure with avid and curious eyes.
The textures and the dermal surfaces covered with preciosity seduce us on a works that in reduced size are as small jewels and in more measure they enter in the land of the sculpture.
A singular work and differentiated that personalizes this creator's work in enamel with fire on metals which has opened a door of the many that the art and the fire allows us.

VI th INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION OF ENAMELLING "WORLD OF ENAMELLING" SALOU 2005 THE DISH: From 2 until July 31th 2005.
( Look Exhibition )

We celebrate a new edition of these defined international exhibitions as. The World of Enamelling that, initiate modestly as national in the year 1985, they have gone being internationalized progressively and consolidating in the incomparable mark of the Torre Vella of Salou. Chronologically biennials, excepting a lapsus of some years for reasons of the segregation Vilaseca-Salou villages, this year 2005 a 20 years of these manifestations dedicated to the world of enamel are completed then. A good cake with 20 candles could be made to celebrate this anniversary. It is encouraging to check like after this effort maintained in these two decades, each new edition represents a so much participation growth of countries, as of participants and works. It is curious to check as arriving to the 20 years of a manifestation it has meant, in many cases, the disappearance of many of these or similar activities. A paradigmatic fact can find it in the magnificent ones Biennial of enamelling of Limoges that, as a song of dying swan, when completing this anniversary they disappeared.

For what concerns us, we would not want and we will make the entire possible so that, this malediction, is not fulfilled the biennial of Salou. As information to the readers will say that in this sixth exhibition of Salou we have been received more than 350 works of 20 countries of the world from those that, once carried out the previous selection, they are exposed only near 200 works because the selection should have been very rigorous given the available space to make it worthily. Already from the first international exhibition the participation was conditioned to a topic or forced unique format, that besides providing an unit to the sample and of facilitating the justness in the grant of prizes, it has allowed to check the wide and varied creative capacity of the artists enamellers before the obligation of sticking to a topic and an established format. In this current edition the topic has been the plate. This way in the exhibition it will be very nice to contemplate real china of decorations and technical very enriching. Moreover the enjoyment of the lovers of the art of the enamel, we believe that these biennial should mean a lot for our enamellers for the fact of bringing home the last achievements of many foreign enamellers, allowing them to see technical and concepts varied that otherwise would behave some almost impossible multiple displacements. We advise the visit then to the exhibition, an event, we believe, of thanking.

MIGUEL CAAMAÑO. ( Look Exhibition )

It is presented in Foc Gallery in this first virtual sample of our Permanent Center of Enamelling Art.

We want to give him the welcome and the opportunity that this way offers us at the moment to give to know the work of artists and artisans, of any place to everybody.

It is this way that we receive this author's work from Lugo, in the green Galicia that historically it has given enamellers since the Celtic ones settled down and they rooted the tradition goldsmith in these humid lands. The work of Miguel Caamaño, enameller jeweller, won't surprise us for stridencies neither audacities, before it will comfort us from the optics from the craft love, the neatness and the professionalism of somebody that looks for the beauty of the simple and daily things and that he still falls in love with a nature that he offers us the art in butterfly form, flower or grass strand.

From the simplicity, the careful work and the desire of surpass and to learn he offers a group of jeweller's creations, wearable, young and refreshing that are, in Lugo, the test of the survive and the future of the technique of fire enamel on metals.
